Use the Genealogy Collection

The library has an extensive collection of genealogical materials including local family histories, cemetery records and other items of interest.

The Greene Public Library's genealogy collection contains the Greene Recorder on microfilm, Butler County cemetery records, and a variety of books on Butler County and Greene history.  The books in the genealogy collection are located in the Iowa section of the library and are available during regular library hours. Most materials can be checked out. The librarians would be available to assist patrons with genealogy research.  A microfilm reader/printer is available for patron use and the cost to print one copy is $.10.

This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
